The company was founded with the name “Coloratecni” in 1978 in Milan thanks to a family enterprise; it started designing and manufacturing pneumatic pumps for the spray application of painting products. At the same time “Colora” was founded in order to be able to offer to the entire peninsula a full range of high quality spray painting equipment (both manufactured by Coloratecni and imported from abroad) as well as an effective technical service. Both the companies take less than ten years to reach a significant market share.

In the year 1988 the Special Industrial Pumps Department start operating dealing with transfer, metering and extrusion as well as other applications which do not involve painting.

In year 1990 Coloratecni takes over Colora. The great commercial success suggests the company to open several branch houses all over the national territory; Coloratecni becomes the best interlocutor for the all the small and medium factories offering a valid support to solve any kind of problem concerning painting and fluid transfer.

At the same time the company started operating in the foreign country, obtaining important market shares in Europe and in the Far East.

In 1995 the turning-point: Wagner Group takes over Coloratecni which is renamed WAGNERcolora and incorporates the pre-existent organization Wagner Spraytech Italia. The integration with the multinational corporation is quick and origins several synergies, the presence on the market is further on consolidated and allows a widening of operative horizons especially in the direction of automatic system and “turn-key” solutions.

In 1997 WAGNERcolora obtains Quality System certification based on ISO9001 specification. At the beginning of the third millennium Wagnercolora represents in the group a real model in terms of performances business and contribute to the technology development and marketing while, within its home market, represents a necessary reference for customers and competitors.
