Extrusion pumps

When it is necessary to process highly viscous materials with an especially thick and viscous consistency such as adhesives, greases, sealing compound and sealants, so-called extrusion pumps are used.

The problem in using conventional piston pumps for pasty materials is that the material is only drawn in around the intake area of the piston pump. Because viscous material is very thick, it does not flow to the intake area and the pump cavitates not suctioning more material.

Conventional configuration. The pasty material cannot flow to the pump. Thus the pump cavitates and becomes unable to draw in more material. Configuration with piston pump and ram. Here, too, the pump is unable to draw in more material. Here the ram compacts the material and the pump (with showel valve on the bottom) becomes able to draw in material again.

The extrusion pumps is mounted on a pneumatic ram and is provided with a follower plate and a showel valve on the bottom of the pump itself. The ram continuously pushes the follower plate into the material drum, drawing the high viscosity material to the intake area of the pump. The showel valve on the bottom allow the right filling of pump's camera.

PUMPS FOR HIGHLY VISCOUS PRODUCTS

The extrusion pumps is mounted on a pneumatic ram suitable to handle high viscosity products directly from the original containers.

There are three different versions available in accodance with the dimensions of the material conteiners:

PP25 model with single-column lift for tanks and barrels of 25/30 litres,

PP50 model with double-column lift for tanks and barrels of 50 litres,

PP200 model with double-column lift for tanks and barrels of 200 litres.

Fluid section available in Carbon Steel with special thermic treatment and, on demand, in Stainless Steel.

PUMPS FOR INKS

The pneumatic piston pumps manufactured by Wagner Colora are designed to transfer and feed offset inks “cold set” , “heat set”, “UV”, inks for rotary printing and for sheet offset presses.

All models are double effect piston pumps, equipped with a mechanical feeding device to facilitate the priming (shovel valve) and available with follower plate for tanks and barrels (version for 25, 50, 200 litres) or with special 3 inch suction manifold (CU/C vesion) for direct suction of inks from 1000/1500 litres tanks and from containers.

A special attention has been dedicated to its construction materials and to auto-adjusting rod packing, special designed in order to assure an excellent compatibility with offset inks as well as a strong resistance in time.

SOLVENTLESS UNITS

The air powered extrusion group for monocomponent “solventless” adhesives, manufactured in Italy by Wagner Colora is directed at the fields of plastic films coupling, and plasticization of paper, cardboard, aluminium and especially of food package production.

Thanks to the simple and efficient automatism of its system, the operator can transfer in a safe and clean way directly to the coupling or plasticizing machine the quantity of glue necessary for the production, at the most suitable temperature. It has in fact heated flexible hose and follower plate electronically controlled, with possibility to adjust the temperature.
